Virginia Loseau Hamilton, age 87, of Elgin, passed away on December 14, 2015 in Elgin, Illinois. She was born on October 15, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, to the loving parents of Frank Paul Loseau and Marguerite Mann Loseau.
Virginia molded the minds of generations of Chicago students for 35 years as an 8th grade math and computer science teacher at Clinton Elementary School and Northeastern University – Chicago. After she retired from teaching, Virginia continued to influence students as an active volunteer in local schools. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading. Virginia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her time with family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles H. Pollock; her second husband, Robert “Gus” Hamilton; and her son, Daniel Charles Pollock.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Charles) Harding; daughter-in-law Mary Ann Lund; grandchildren, Cynthia (Jason) Rafkind, Kimberly (Woodrow) Ashby, Jennifer (Joe) Glim, Corinne (Daniel) Gudovic, Brian (Samantha) Pollock, Daniel (Jessica) Pollock; and great-grandchildren, Ginger Rafkind, Ryder and Griffyn Ashby, Ryan and Joshua Glim, and Dylan, Olivia and Evelyn Gudovic.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Villa Olivia Country Club, 1401 W Lake St, Bartlett, IL 60103, with Rev. Tim Perry officiating. Interment will be private.
