The preparation for my dad’s viewing was a fearful moment for our family, however we knew in our hearts we needed that for closure. I cannot stress how amazing Dan and his team were with every lasting detail, from how peaceful and beautiful my dad looked to us, to the flowers which after nearly a week are full and just beautiful!
Dan and Joy were great and treated our family like they were their family! I really can’t thank the staff enough for helping us turn a tragedy into a celebration of an amazing life.
In reference to my husband's passing, my greatest joy is that he was honored so deeply and with such respect at Symonds Madison Funeral Home. My husband changed his mind in the last two weeks of life in that he wanted to be cremated in his Army uniform. I wanted him to have an Honor Guard send off. My son and I read to him introductions on the web home pages of three area funeral homes. Doug chose Symonds-Madison because it is "proudly Veteran and family owned." I couldn't be more pleased with his choice. Daniel, Joy, Penny, Val, Bob and all the staff made my dreams for his life celebration happen in less than a week---a beautiful and wonderful service.
Dan and Joy Symonds provide experienced and compassionate care to everyone. Their dedication to veterans also shows complete commitment to honor those who served.
I attended the funeral of John James Murphy on Jan 20, 2020. This day will always be in my heart, The day was humbling, emotional and full of love and respect. We were all brought together by a total stranger and left as family. I am sure John Murphy felt the love. I attended with my sister. Like everyone else we did not know what to expect. When we saw all the cars and lines of people it brought tears to our eyes. We talked with several service members, who were touched by the response of community. After paying our respects my sister said "lets move to the back". The only man (Dan) sitting in front row said "why, we are his family" We were honored to sit in front.
One of the most difficult things in life we go through is the loss of a loved one. When you are the one who is responsible to make their final arrangements, it can be the most stressful experience of your life. My family recently suffered the loss of our dad and Daniel Symonds- Funeral Director/Owner and his staff made me and my family feel at ease and comfortable. They treated us like they were part of our family. Daniel answered all our phone calls with patience. They took care of everything and were compassionate and very professional. They took the time to understand our sometimes complicated wishes and helped explain decisions we had to make. With respect to the level of service of the Symonds-Madison funeral Home, If I could give them 10 stars I would. On behalf of the Ogunribido Family, Thank You. You made a heartbreaking experience manageable and memorable. I'm sure daddy is smiling in heaven!
The 5 star rating whould be higher if I could 10 out of 10 or higher. I want to express my sincere gratitude for the care and assistance I was given at Symonds Madison funeral home. My lose of my son was sudden unexpected tragic.Symonds Madison was upfront on costs and was very helpful for me through the entire process. After the funeral was over they continue to assist me with paperwork which was over and above what could be expected from any funeral home. The sudden and unexpected passing of my husband left me in shock. I wanted to insure he was buried with full military honors. My daughter used google to locate a funeral home that specialized in military services. Mr. Daniel Symonds greatly exceeded my expectations at all levels. His compassion, empathy and appreciation for those who served was evident. He went above and beyond to make the entire process seamless and worry free for the entire family. When the services were concluded I felt my husband was given the respect and love he deserved for serving his country. I highly recommend Symonds-Madison Funeral Home to anyone during their time of need military or non military.
Dan has proven himself to be a mover of mountains to get things done right. As well as being a TRUE friend of those in the military. I will use him for my own funeral. Thank you Dan for all you do. For Bill Kopecki
