Shirley A. Iversen, age 80, a long time resident of Elgin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Advocate Sherman Hospital. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 29, 1935 to her loving parents, Ronald and Ann Kiefer.
She worked at Ekco Manufacturing for 28 years in accounting and as a bookkeeper at Diamond Tool & Abrasives for 15 years. She met the love of her life in high school, Clyde with whom she was married for 59 years. Shirley enjoyed the outdoors, playing an occasional round of golf but her favorite passion was boating. She was an affiliated member of the Fox Valley Sail & Power Squadron for over 40 years. Shirley was an avid dog lover, also a kind and loving person, who will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde, daughter-in-law, Tracy Iversen, sister-in-law Ellen Nelson along with many cousins and friends. Shirley was proceeded in death by her son, Paul Iversen.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Holiday Inn in Elgin, IL from 2pm thru 5pm.
