Ruth Delores Kline, age 91, of Hampshire, IL, passed away on April 14, 2021 at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, IL. She was born August 6, 1929 in Plato Township, IL to her loving parents, Frederick C. and Anna H. Yurs (née Cartwright).

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

A lifelong resident of Elgin, Ruth was a member of Abiding Peace Lutheran Church on Randall Road. She loved flowers, people, playing the piano, and politics. She sang in the choir at church for many years, and was a talented seamstress.

Always ready to discuss current events, Ruth had a biblical worldview and believed strongly in prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. Loved ones will remember her as kind, generous, and caring.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald Kahl; second husband, Charles Kline; Charles’ daughter, Cindy; twelve brothers and sisters; and grandson, Alex.

She is survived by four Kahl daughters, Dianne Peppers, Rhonda Pethoud, Denise Schlick, and Rosalee Pierce; three Kline daughters, Vickie Cashmore, Terri Lee, and Wendy Reynolds; ten grandchildren, Rachel, Steve, Nick, Anna, Melissa, Jennifer, Kelly, Rochelle, Lonnie, Jr., and Matt; and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00am until funeral service at 12:00pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Abiding Peace Lutheran Church, 9N976 Randall Road, Elgin, IL 60123.

Interment to follow at Plato Center Cemetery, Muirhead Road and Russell Road, Plato Center, IL 60124.
