Jesse Lee Mell, age 58, passed away July 24, 2016 at his home in Elgin Illinois. He was born October 16, 1957 in Chicago, IL to his loving parents, Johnnie and Mary Mell.

Jesse graduated from Manley High School and Harold Washington College in Chicago. He was employed as Head of Maintenance at Williamson Management. He had a strong work ethic and was highly valued by the company and its customers.

Jesse married the love of his life, Muriel, on Valentines Day in 1992.

Jesse grow up in a multi-talented musical family. His father taught him how to play multiple instruments including bass guitar which is what he plays in the band pops Plus. In his early years his passion for music inspired him to grow and create his baby, Q WAV Matix Productions, where he produced multiple talents and collaborations in every aspect of music, including animation.

He was loved by all he came in contact with and became a father figure to many. He will always be remembered as a good-hearted man with drive and determination. His memory will be cherished as a man that was humbled, caring , a valued son, father, brother, husband, and most of all a friend.

Jesse was preceded in death by his father Johnnie; brothers Johnnie, Tommie and Robert; and a host of other relatives.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Muriel; sons Jessie Lee Mell, Jr. and Arron P. Hughes; mother Mary Mell; sister Latisha (Martin) Dallmann; grandchildren Denise, Jessie III, Mariah, Arron Jr. and Franklin; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM-9:00p.m. Sunday July 31, 2016 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St, Elgin 60120.
