Corine King, 77, of Carpentersville, passed away April 26, 2019 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL.  Corine was born October 6, 1941 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to her loving parents, Walter McPherson and Gustie Shelby.

Corine moved to Chicago at an early age and later worked at the YMCA, Chicago IL on Austin Ave. and as a housekeeper. She was married to the love of her life, Irving “Tony” Turner for 30 years.

Loved ones will remember Corine as a loving woman with a wonderful sense of humor.  She was a talented cook.  Family always came first, and she showed her love by opening her home to relatives with love.  She cherished time with her children and grandchildren.

Corine was preceded in death by her dear husband Tony; children Barbara, Billy, Clifton, Danny and Louis; and siblings Cleveland, Robert, LC, Ossiebee, Marie, Carrie Josephine, and Lizzie Mae.

Corine leaves behind her daughter, Patsy and son-in-law Willie Hill; son Dennis (Andera) Jackson; daughter-in-law Latasha Turner; sisters Fannie Mae, Gussie, Florine Otha Mae and brothers Bill (Cathy Sue) James, and Frank McPherson; grandchildren Latilda Longmire Conley, Thomas Longmire, Shameesha Jackson, Rasheem Jackson, Denvin Roby, Phillip Hill, Sharonda Hill, Nakiya Turner, Sonya Hill, and Clifton Turner Jr., and 26 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 11:00a.m. until time of service at to 1:00p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Faithwalk Harvest Center, 400 Maple Ave., Carpentersville, IL 60110, Rev. Dexter K. Ball officiating.  Interment will be at a later date at Forest Home Cemetery, 863 Desplaines Ave, Forest Park, IL 60130.
