Agraciano Caballero, age 67, of Carpentersville, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Mesothelioma cancer on September 25, 2015. He was born in Astilleros, GTO, Mexico on December 21, 1947 to the loving parents of Graciano Caballero and Paula Mandujano.

As a young man, Agraciano had a passion for horses, and loved wearing cowboy hats.  He married the love of his life, Maria Gonzalez, in 1976.  Together they raised six children.  They moved to Chicago in 1997, and had their seventh child in 1999.

In his free time, Agraciano enjoyed riding his bike and taking time to appreciate God’s beautiful creation all around us.  He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather of seven granddaughters and seven grandsons.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Agraciano relied on his strong faith to keep his spirits high.  He continued to love life, and always carried his head high, happy and smiling, even on his darkest days.

The family of Agraciano Caballero would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Sherman Hospital and the University of Chicago.  A special thank you goes to the beautiful hospice caregivers who enriched not only Agraciano’s life, but the lives of his family during this difficult time.  Their love and dedication will not soon be forgotten.

Agraciano was preceded in death by his daughter, Isela Michelle Caballero.

He is survived by his wife, Maria S. Caballero, seven children, Esmerelda, Fabiola, Jose, Mayra, Heriberto, Yessica, and Berenice; and fourteen grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, Illinois 60120.  Funeral mass will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church, 90 North Kennedy Drive, Carpentersville, Illinois, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, with interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd, Elgin, IL 60120 .
