Upon arriving in the U.S., she embraced every opportunity with hard work and resilience, taking on early jobs at Dunkin’ Donuts and Leewards. She went on to work as a machine operator at Hoffer Plastics in South Elgin, Illinois, where she dedicated over 40 years of service and was recognized for her exemplary attendance and commitment. She retired in the early 2000s, leaving behind a career marked by quiet perseverance and dignity.

Her passions were many—she loved planting flowers and vegetables, dancing, and was especially proud of her involvement in the Serbian Folklore Group. She had a deep appreciation for music, from Serbian and American tunes to classical melodies. Sports brought her joy as well; she was an enthusiastic fan of football, basketball, tennis, and anything Serbian.
Viktorija was a woman of faith who valued Catholic education for her children and held a deep trust in God throughout her life. Her greatest pride was in celebrating the milestones and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, always supporting them with heartfelt encouragement and love. She also cared deeply for her pets, who brought her great comfort and companionship.
