Victoria “Vicki” Sue Mitchell, age 75, of Elgin, IL, passed away into eternal life on February 10, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born November 25, 1946 in Elgin, IL to her loving parents, Walter and Evelyn (née Johnson) Moore.

Vicki attended Elgin Public Schools and graduated from Elgin High School, Class of 1964. She went on to attend Milliken University in Decatur, IL. On July 1, 1978, she was united in marriage with Gary A. Mitchell.

Vicki started out in her professional career as an executive secretary. For the past 35 years, she worked side by side with her husband in the day-to-day operations of the family-owned business, the Mitchell Agency.

Vicki enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful plants and flowers. She loved all her animals, both domestic and wild, that she had throughout her life.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter “Skip” Moore; and sister, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Jones. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Gary Mitchell; brothers, Richard (Marie) Moore, and Tim (Barb) Moore; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Baumann and Myrna Moore; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and countless devoted friends.

All who knew Vicki were touched greatly by her care and tenderness. Her warm heart and lovely smile will be missed by so many people that she blessed during her life.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday, February 21, 2022, and from 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Michael Murschel will be officiating.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.
