Patricia Joan Weiskopf Obituary

Patricia Joan (née Clark) Weiskopf, age 70, passed peacefully into eternity at home on the afternoon of Friday, March 14, 2025, after a two-year battle with a Glioblastoma Brain Tumor.  Her abiding faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave her courage and a peace that passed all understanding during this trial.  She will be warmly remembered for her big smile and the unconditional love that she so freely gave to everyone.

Patricia was born on December 1, 1954 in Sharon, CT to Robert and Virginia Clark as the youngest of four daughters.  The family moved to Ringwood, NJ in the mid-1960’s when her father’s occupation as a Horticulturist brought them to Skylands Manor to recreate the grounds.  It was in the fall of 1969, while attending Lakeland Regional High School, that she met the love of her life, Harry Weiskopf, which began their 55 years together.

Patricia and Harry were married on July 5, 1975 in the Cadet Chapel at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.  After graduation from West Point, they had several military assignments that included Ft Benning, GA; Ft Leonard Wood, MO; and Ft Bragg, NC.  In 1981, after transitioning out of the military, their continued journey led them to Wilmington, NC; Corning, NY; and Baltimore, MD.  After graduating from Maryland Bible College & Seminary, the family moved to Elgin, IL in August of 1996 to begin a new Church, which is now Greater Grace Community Church.

Patricia’s love for children was demonstrated in her 45-year career in various Childcare roles.  She was a Preschool Teacher at The Learning Tree in Elgin, IL for over 25 years.  Her love for the children and her Co-workers enriched her life each and every day.  She loved to travel, visiting family and friends, seeing National Parks, and going on Cruises.  She could be seen working in her garden, cultivating the many beautiful flowers and shrubs around her home.  Patricia liked Gnomes and many of her friends brought them as gifts during her illness.  As a strong woman of faith, she will be remembered for the kind notes and cards that she sent to so many of her family members and dear friends over the years.  Patricia’s love for her family could be seen in the big smile it brought to her face as she talked about each one that she was so very proud of.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Harry; her three Children, Kendra (Donnie) Weiskopf, Justin (Megan) Weiskopf, and Theus (Quinn) Richards; her five Grandsons, Patrick (Janelle) Watters, Jakob Haefner, Hunter Stuart, Levi Weiskopf, and Caleb Weiskopf; and her two Great-Grandsons, Immanuel and Jeremiah Watters.  She is also survived by her three wonderful Sisters, Virginia Clark, Lucinda Morton, and Diana Vargo; and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patricia’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 5th at 3:00 PM at Greater Grace Community Church, 991 Deborah Avenue, Elgin, IL  60123.  We will also be celebrating Harry & Patricia’s 50th Wedding Anniversary which would have been on this same day.  A meal will be shared in the Fellowship Hall of the Church at the conclusion of the Service.  This Service will be made available on the Greater Grace Elgin Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests considering giving a Memorial Gift to the Hope Orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal.  Patricia has been a long-term supporter of this wonderful labor of love.  Checks can be made payable to “Greater Grace Church” and mailed to Harry Weiskopf, 1177 Bellevue Avenue, Elgin, IL  60123; or donations made online at www.GGCC.church using the “Give Online” Button and selecting “Patricia Weiskopf - Memorial Giving”.

The Weiskopf Family wishes to express our gratitude to the hundreds of friends and family members that came along side us during Patricia’s illness with their love, prayers, encouragement, caregiving assistance, hundreds of cards, and generous financial gifts.  We are forever thankful for the outpouring of support; we could not have done it without all of you!
