Oscar Eduardo Ardila Gomez, 57 años, de Elgin, IL, falleció el 28 de agosto de 2023. Nació el 5 de junio de 1966 en Bogotá, Colombia, de sus amados padres, Josue Antonio Ardila Peralta y Blanca Libia Gomez de Ardila.

Oscar obtuvo su título de bachiller como tecnólogo en obras civiles. Trabajó como inspector vial durante 23 años en Colombia. Trabajó para Hampshire Farms durante 5 meses. Siempre fue muy profesional en su trabajo, puntual, disciplinado y responsable.

Oscar conoció a su esposa en un autobús cuando salían de la escuela. Estuvieron casados ​​durante 36 maravillosos años.

Oscar tenía un sentido del humor que siempre destacó. Fue muy amigable y solidario, y siempre optimista. Le gustaba ver televisión y películas y arreglar las cosas de la casa. También disfrutaba del vino tinto y de la conversación con amigos y familiares.

Oscar era un hombre que adoraba a su familia. Era muy espiritual y tenía una fe inquebrantable, incluso ante la adversidad.

A Oscar le precedieron en la muerte su hijo, Camilo Esteban Ardila en 2019. Le sobreviven su esposa, Gladys Ruiz; los niños, Oscar Mauricio (Nathaly) y Victoria Sofía (Santiago); hermanos, Fernando, Dora, Martha y Esperanza; nietos, Gabriel Santiago; primos, Nubia, Rosalba, Jamie, Alberto, Carlos y Arturo; y sobrinas y sobrinos, James, Esmeralda, Sara, Ma Lucia, Katherine y Tatiana.

La misa fúnebre será a las 3:00 p.m. el viernes 1 de septiembre de 2023 en la Iglesia Católica St. Joseph, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Monseñor Arquímedes Vallejo oficiará.

El velorio se realizará de 5:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. en Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

El entierro será privado.

Oscar Eduardo Ardila Gomez, age 57, of Elgin, IL, passed away on August 28, 2023. He was born June 5, 1966 in Bogota, Colombia to his loving parents, Josue Antonio Ardila Peralta and Blanca Libia Gomez de Ardila.

Oscar earned a bachelors degree as a technologist in civil works. He worked as a road inspector for 23 years in Colombia. He worked for Hampshire Farms for 5 months. He was always very professional in his work, punctual, disciplined, and responsible.

Oscar met his wife on a bus as they were leaving school. They were married for 36 wonderful years.

Oscar had a sense of humor that always stood out. He was very friendly and supportive, and always optimistic. He liked watching television and movies, and fixing things around the house. He also enjoyed red wine and conversation with friends and family.

Oscar was a man who adored his family. He was very spiritual, and had an unbreakable faith, even in the face of adversity.

Oscar was preceded in death by his son, Camilo Esteban Ardila in 2019. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Ruiz; children, Oscar Mauricio (Nathaly) and Victoria Sofia (Santiago); siblings, Fernando, Dora, Martha, and Esperanza; grandchildren, Gabriel Santiago; cousins, Nubia, Rosalba, Jamie, Alberto, Carlos, and Arturo; and nieces and nephews, James, Esmeralda, Sara, Ma Lucia, Katherine, and Tatiana.

Funeral mass will be at 3:00pm, Friday, September 1, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Monsignor Arquimedes Vallejo will be officiating.

Visitation will follow from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Interment will be private.
