Orlando “Brando” Dionisio Sevilla, age 67, of Elgin, IL, passed away on March 11, 2024 after fighting a courageous battle against heart disease, kidney disease, and diabetes. He departed in the best possible circumstances, surrounded by the love and prayers of his immediate family.
Brando was born August 6, 1956 in the Philippines to his loving parents, Leonardo and Gloria (née Dionisio) Sevilla. He was an honor student when he was in elementary school. He took up mining engineering at Adamson University in Manila. He has a talent for acting, singing, and dancing, and played parts in Turandot Opera and Aswang ng Lungsod during his youth at the Metropolitan Theater. He was a good piano, organ, and guitar player, and had composed his own songs. He worked professionally in sales, specializing in health care insurance.
His story wouldn't be complete without his better half, Ermelita Tiangco Sevilla, whom he married on July 10, 1988. They had two children: Brenda Eliza Sevilla Royer, married to Curt Royer, and Emmanuel Salvador Sevilla, married to Rubina P. Sevilla. He is also survived by his grandchildren, namely: William and Harrison Sevilla Royer.
Brando was a husband, father, brother, and friend. He was a minister of the Eucharist in a church in Cavite and Knights of Columbus, 4th degree in the Philippines. In life, he was a faithful husband and a good father to his children. He proved that life is worth living, even in the direst of situations. He kept on rebounding after every visit to the hospital, returning to the love and care of his family. But the Lord finally beckoned to him and took him by His side.
Visitation will be 10:00am to 11:30am, Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mass will be at 12:00pm at St. Mary Church of Elgin, 400 Fulton Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Fr. Robert Camacho will be officiating.
Interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, 30W730 U.S. Hwy. 20, Elgin, IL 60120.
