Marcel Muyumba, age 19, of Elgin, IL, passed away on December 23, 2023. He was born October 7, 2004 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to his loving parents, Robert Muyumba Shindano and Furaha Lehani.

Marcel graduated from Larkin High School, Class of 2023. He enjoyed basketball, drawing, video games, walking to the river, going to the mall, and spending time with friends.

Marcel was a carefree, cheerful person. He was a great cook, teaching the family something new every holiday. He was always available, always spoke his mind, and was patient and slow to anger. He was also very fashionable. He was full of life. He always had a new idea, and a brilliant solution to many of daily life’s challenges.

Marcel is survived by his father, Robert Muyumba Shindano; siblings, Kaozi Belly Muyumba, Sangwa Muyumba, Bin Muyumba, Jacqueline Muyumba, Robert Muyumba, Grace Muyumba, and Naomi Muyumba; uncles, Theo and Jaque Da Bijoux; and nieces and nephews, Vincent Muyumba, Innocent Muyumba, Bridget Muyumba, Karen Muyumba, Samuel Muyumba, Godwin Muyumba, Withgod Muyumba, Valiant Muyumba, Taliah Muyumba, Amare Muyumba, and Given Muyumba.

Visitation will be 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00am, Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Fox Valley Church, 37W073 Huntley Road, Dundee Township, IL 60118.
