Lilia Alva Mojica, age 67, of Elgin, IL, passed away on October 5, 2024. She was born August 17, 1957 in Mexico to her loving parents, Gregorio Alba Calderon and Fidel Mojica Salgado.

Lilia and her husband, Tomas, were married for 42 years. They met in school. She was a loving, caring mother. She enjoyed taking care of and showing love to her family and friends.

Lilia loved her garden, and socializing with friends and neighbors. She also loved collecting hidden treasures.

Lilia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Tomas Medina; children, Mayte Medina, Liliana Medina, and Hector Medina; siblings, Lorenza Alba Mojica, Aurelio Alba Mojica, Arturo Alba Mojica, Agustina Alba Mojica, Rodrigo Alba Mojica, Gregorio Alba Mojica Jr. and Gilberta Alva Mojica; and grandchildren, Xavier Bello, Xymena Bello, Jeancarlo Medina, and Lily Perez.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, October 10, 2024, and will continue from 10:00am to 11:00am, Friday, October 11, 2024, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mass will be at 11:30am, Friday, October 11, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Monsignor Arquimedes Vallejo will be officiating.
