Laura Mayela Huerta, de 42 años, residente de Streamwood, Illinois, falleció el 21 de Junio de 2025. Nació el 28 de Agosto de 1982 en Guanajuato, México, hija de sus queridos padres, Magdaleno Huerta y Lourdes Olmos.

Laura llegó a Estados Unidos a los 18 años. La tercera de seis hijos. Laura era como una segunda madre para sus hermanas menores. Sin saber nada de inglés, empezó a trabajar en KFC. Se esforzó por aprender lo básico y trabajó duro para mantenerse a sí misma y a sus hermanos.

Laura conoció al padre de sus hijos aquí. Tuvo su primer hijo a los 23 años, el segundo a los 27 y el tercero dos años después. Era muy trabajadora, encontraba maneras de aportar más a su familia, pero siempre dedicaba tiempo para sus hijos. Participaba activamente en sus vidas y los animaba en los deportes y otras actividades.

Laura era una hija y madre abnegada y cariñosa. Era amigable, extrovertida y llena de alegría, siempre riendo y haciendo comentarios ingeniosos. Vivía una vida llena de humor, con pequeños contratiempos. Tenía una risa fuerte y contagiosa que le daba un brillo encantador.

A Laura le encantaba ir al gimnasio, tomar clases de inglés y recibir invitados a cenar. Sobre todo, le encantaba pasar tiempo de calidad con sus hijos, llevándolos al centro comercial, al cine y a otras salidas divertidas.

A Laura le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Magdaleno Huerta; y su abuela, Juana Caudillo. Le sobreviven sus hijos, John, Chris y Melina; su madre, Lourdes Olmos; sus hermanos, Carlos, Armando, Ana Lilia, Mirella y Daniela; y sus sobrinos y sobrinas, Jonathan, Karla, Vanessa, Melanie, Christopher, Armando, Leslie, Ángel Gabriel y Aleyda.

El velatorio se realizará de 17:00 a 21:00 h el jueves 26 de junio de 2025 y de 10:00 a 11:00 h el viernes 27 de junio de 2025 en la Funeraria Symonds-Madison, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

La misa será a las 11:30 h el viernes 27 de junio de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de San José, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio de Bluff City, 945 Bluff City Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60120.

Laura Mayela Huerta, age 42, of Streamwood, IL, passed away on June 21, 2025. She was born August 28, 1982 in Guanajuato, Mexico to her loving parents, Magdaleno Huerta and Lourdes Olmos.

Laura came to the United States when she was 18 years old. The third oldest of six children, Laura was like a second mother to her younger sisters. Without knowing any English, she began working at Kentucky Fried Chicken. She pushed herself to learn the basics and worked hard to support herself and her siblings.

Laura met the father of her children here. She had her first child at age 23, her second at age 27, and her third two years later. She was very hardworking, finding ways to give more to her family, yet always making time for her children. She was active in their lives, and encouraged them when it came to sports and other activities.

Laura was selfless and caring, a loving daughter and mother. She was friendly, extroverted, and full of joy, always laughing and making witty remarks. She lived a humorous life with silly mishaps. She had a loud and contagious laugh that gave her a beautiful glow.

Laura enjoyed going to the gym, taking English classes, and having guests over for dinner. Most of all, she loved spending quality time with her children, taking them to the mall, the movies, and other fun outings.

Laura was preceded in death by her father, Magdaleno Huerta; and grandmother, Juana Caudillo. She is survived by her children, John, Chris, and Melina; mother, Lourdes Olmos; siblings, Carlos, Armando, Ana Lilia, Mirella, and Daniela; and nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Karla, Vanessa, Melanie, Christopher, Armando, Leslie, Angel Gabriel, and Aleyda.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, June 26, 2025, and 10:00am to 11:00am, Friday, June 27, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mass will be at 11:30am, Friday, June 27, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60120.
