James Webster Warner, age 84, of Elgin, IL, passed away on December 3, 2022. He was born November 14, 1938 in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, Harry Warner and Helen (née Blazier) Allen.
James graduated from Elgin High School, Class of 1956, then attended Elgin Community College and Lake Forest College. He joined the United States Army in 1961, serving for two years before being honorably discharged in 1963.
James worked as a Claims Processor for the Brethren Benefit Trust, retiring in 1989.
James enjoyed fishing, watching the Kentucky Derby, and cheering on his favorite teams (his beloved Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Alabama Crimson Tide). He also attended basketball games at his alma mater, Elgin High School, every chance he could.
James loved spending time with family and friends, and worshiping with and helping his church family.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Allen; father and stepmother, Harry and Jean Warner; and brother, Bob Warner. He is survived by his daughters, Julie (Timothy) Hughes and Jennifer (Anthony) Caiazzo; stepbrothers, Rich (Karen) Warner and Tom (Lynda) Warner; stepsister, Karen (Thane) Halsted; sister-in-law, Mary Warner; grandchildren, Ashley Bontrager, Alex Banaszak, Faith Meyers, and Savanah Caiazzo; great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Mason; nieces and nephews, Aaron Warner, Reed Warner, Becky Rissel, Mitchell Warner, and Brittany Macabulos; and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life, with military honors, will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in James' name to Fox Valley Baptist Church, 16N562 Vista Lane, Dundee Township, IL 60118.
