Harvy Santino Berrios

Harvy Santino Berrios, age 22, of Elgin, IL, passed away on November 19, 2022.  He was born May 20, 2000 in Berwyn, IL to his loving parents, Harry and Karla Berrios.

Harvy graduated from Central High School, Class of 1998, and attended Elgin Community College.  He worked as a sales associate at Play It Again Sports, and as an arboriculturist for Asplundh.

Harvy was affectionate and resilient, with a beautiful soul.  He was a very unique and authentic individual; handsome and fashionable, athletic and playful.  He was always very respectful of others.  Loved ones will remember him as hardworking, funny, mischievous, intelligent, charming, determined, and energetic.

Harvy enjoyed sports, outdoor activities, and working out.  He was a car enthusiast, as well.  He had a full social life and was a good friend.  He loved exploring and learning new things.

Harvy was a wonderful son and brother.  His family has many fond memories of his accomplishments, such as his first communion and confirmation, attending a religious retreat, winning first place in a 3-point basketball contest, learning to ride a motorcycle, getting his first car, being a groomsman, and being chosen for his first job over 200 other people.  Harvy was the perfect display of living his best life.  He will be greatly missed!

Remember our son with great love and great joy, as the man who’ll forever be our baby boy.

Harvy was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Emilio Munoz and Rosario Soto; abuela, Estela Berrios; and uncles, Emilio Munoz and Arturo Munoz.  He is survived by his parents, Harvy and Karla Berrios; brother, Damien Orland Berrios; grandparents, Maritza, and Raymond Vasquez, Alma and James Stryczek, and Carlos Molina; aunts, Celia and Jana; uncles, Angel and Carlos; and cousins, Oliver, Ava, Jaxson, Yaritza, Aybee, and Junior.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday, November 28, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at St. Mary Church of Elgin, 400 Fulton Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Fr. Chris Kuhn will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery, 520 E. Grand Avenue, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
