Edwin Grant Jacobsen, age 71, of Elgin, IL, passed away on June 1, 2024. He was born March 10, 1953 in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, Florence Betty Mae (née Schmoldt) and Edwin George Jacobsen.

Edwin graduated from Elgin High School, Class of 1971. He worked for Kinney Electric Co. for many years.

Edwin was very knowledgeable, earning the nickname “E.G., the Bright One as bright as G.E.” He was well loved and well respected, very friendly and helpful. Some of his passions were technology and cooking. He also enjoyed building models and electric trains.

Edwin was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. He is survived by his sisters, Nancy O’Claire and Peggy Martin.

Interment will be private.
