Dennis Joseph Piñon Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that Dennis Joseph Piñon, age 72, passed away on December 17, 2022.  He was born October 21, 1950 in Wyandotte, MI to Jose Guadalupe Piñon and Betty Catherine (née Cameron) Merideth.


Dennis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will always be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He worked for General Motors for 38 years, and was known for his hard work and dedication to his career.


Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family, including his wife of 50 years, Kathleen; his sons, Brian (Christen) and Alan (Ursula); and his two granddaughters, Evelyn and Nina.  He is also survived by his siblings, Terryanne Cheresko, Joseph Piñon, Lorna Raupp, Catherine O'Brien, and Wayne Merideth.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Merideth.


Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his love and influence will continue to be felt by his family for generations to come.


The family is hosting an open house memorial from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 722 Douglas Avenue, Elgin, IL 60120.


A memorial will be held from 4:00pm until funeral service at 7:00pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Czopek Funeral Home, 2157 Oak Street, Wyandotte, MI 48192.  Fr. Mark Borkowski will be officiating.


Interment will be at 10:30am, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, 18303 Allen Road, Brownstown, MI 48193.
