Deanna Gail (née Danner) Grantham, age 84, of Elgin, IL, passed away on May 8, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born March 4, 1941 in Elgin, IL to her loving parents, Frank and Dorothy (née Webber) Danner.

Her early years with her family were in Bartlett, IL. She met her lifelong love, Alfred Grantham, with whom she moved to Elgin. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Deanna worked in a variety of positions around the Elgin area, including the Elgin Watch factory, the Hemmens Auditorium, Saint Joseph's Hospital, and selling Avon, to name a few.

Deanna’s passion was caring for others and being a close friend with so many. Deanna enjoyed playing cards and other activities with her friends. She was an avid reader and traded books with her many friends. Her passion was gardening. She lovingly tended her flower and vegetable gardens and was known for her beautiful roses. For a number of years, Deanna and Al traveled to Texas for several months, enjoying the warm weather and family and friends there. They also belonged to an RV Travel Club and had many enjoyable trips over the years. Deanna was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Barbara Hardesty. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and is survived by her husband, Alfred Grantham; daughters, Dealynn (Steve Dombrowski) Stone and Amy (Dave Wheelock) Grantham; grandchildren, Rachel Rich, Lauren Stone, and Courtney (Bryce) Jacobs; and great-grandson, Daxton. She is also survived by cousins, Jeff and Linda Danner, who were especially helpful in her final days.

There will be a memorial in Deanna’s honor at 9:30am, with service at 11:00am, Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Good Shepherd Church, 195 Nesler Road, Elgin, IL 60124. A light luncheon will follow.

Befitting Deanna’s caring personality for others, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in order to assist their continued outreach and aid to others.

Deanna will be missed by all, but her memory will be carried by many for life.

Interment will be private.
