Christine Scopa Hottovy

Christine Scopa Hottovy, age 57, of Elgin, IL, passed away on March 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 24, 1965 in Mt. Prospect, IL to her loving parents, Vito and the late Marie (née Chiodo) Scopa.

Christine was the beloved wife of Randal G. Hottovy for 23 years. She was a devoted sister to Lynn (Michael) Galloway and Terry (Albert) Valenti, and loved sister-in-law to Allan (Ann) Hottovy, Jackie (Josh) Whisler, Teresa ( Kevin) Hafer, Michelle (Terry) Meyers, Mike (Debbie) Hottovy, Toni Richards Hottovy, and the late Terry Hottovy. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

To know her is to love her … anyone who knew Chris would say that she had a generous spirit and reached out to help many. Her talents included cooking, baking, and gardening.

Her courageous spirit persevered as she fought a brain aneurism which finally took her life after 11 days.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with prayers at 7:00pm, Friday, March 17, 2023 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Thomas More Church, 215 Thomas More Drive, Elgin, IL 60123. Fr. Ryan Browning will be officiating.

Interment will be private.
