Catherine D. Selpien, age 72, of Belvidere, IL, and formerly of Elgin and Hoffman Estates, passed away on July 17, 2022. She was born May 9, 1950 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, Joseph and Virginia (née Sargis) Zuilek.

Cathy graduated from Elgin Community College, and worked for Dominicks and Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Cathy and her husband, Dana, were married for 51 years. She enjoyed ceramics. She also loved hosting family holiday get-togethers, and was the best dolma maker ever.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Zuilek; and her sister, Pamela Zuilek-Streff. She is survived by her husband, Dana Selpien; mother, Virginia Sargis Zuilek; brother, Joe (Kathy Cote-Zuilek) Zuilek; cousins, Connie Sargis Taylor, Nicky Sargis, and Tony Sargis Ziulek; and nieces and nephews, Ben Zuilek, Megan Zuilek, Samantha Wasilewski, and Nicole Johns.

Visitation will be 10:30am until funeral service at 11:30am, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 340 Grand Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60120. Pr. Carol Book will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, 30W730 U.S. Hwy. 20, Elgin, IL 60120.
