Carlos Sanchez Obituary

Carlos Sanchez, age 29, of Elgin, IL, passed away on July 16, 2026. Affectionately known as Carlitos, Carlin, Litos, and "Best Frieeend" to those who loved him most, Carlos was born June 19, 1997 in Chicago, IL to his loving parents, Juan Carlos Sanchez and Martina Soledad.

From the bustling city streets of Chicago to the peaceful neighborhoods of Elgin, Carlos carried with him a spirit of courage, love, and laughter that touched everyone he met. A lover of movies, soccer, legos, wrestling, and new food experiences, he was always ready to dive into life's many adventures. His sense of humor was infectious, his laughter a melody that echoed in the hearts of his loved ones.

In 2023, Carlos was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). His reaction to this challenge was a testament to his character: he was resolute, courageous, and unwaveringly optimistic. Despite the pain, he wore a smile that was as warm as it was defiant, a 10/10 grin that was his signature. His resolute determination saw him through a bone marrow transplant in 2025.

Carlos was much more than a cancer patient; he was a warrior, a beacon of hope, and an inspiration to everyone around him. His accomplishments were many, including winning the "Most Laps Walked" competition three times in the Oncology Unit at Lutheran General Hospital - a testament to his tenacity and determination.

Carlos was a loving son to Juan Sanchez and Martina Soledad, and a caring brother to Isabel Morales, Alondra Sanchez, and Jesus Sanchez. He adored his three nieces, teasing and defending them with the same intensity. He excitedly anticipated the arrival of two nephews, ready to embrace them with his boundless love and affection. His family was his world, and he was theirs. He brought joy, laughter, and love into their lives, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled. Carlos always strived to keep his family strong, and in his memory, they will continue to be so.
