Antoine Ramone Walker Sr., age 54, of Syracuse, NE, passed away on January 18, 2026. He was born April 28, 1971 in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, James Harrison and Cassandria Walker.

Antoine was more than just a son, he was someone with a strong presence and a personality you couldn’t help but remember. He was a hard worker, believing in putting in the effort and doing things the right way, not cutting any corners. People could count on him. He took real pride in that, and his work ethic was part of his character. It showed his sense of responsibility and how seriously he took life at the same time.

Antoine had his fun and he had a fearless side. He loved music, and it was his second language when words failed. He had melodies when life felt heavy, he had rhythm, and when he was happy, really happy, you could hear it before you seen it. Some of our favorite memories of Antoine aren’t big moments, they are small ones, him being lost in a song, him sharing a track, saying, “You have to hear this.” Antoine would turn up the volume like the world needed to listen a little closer! Those moments mattered, because Antoine mattered! When he shared his love for dancing and doing backflips, you could see his confidence and energy come alive. It was impossible not to smile, watching him move!

He had an amazing love for cooking, too! He could turn simple ingredients into something that felt special. He had a way of making people feel at home; a meal with him wasn’t rushed, it came with stories, laughter, and maybe a little teasing. That was his personality – bold, expressive, and unafraid to be himself!

Antoine was also a huge dog lover. Dogs were naturally drawn to him, that made sense, and he was the perfect example of the phrase, “A man’s best friend is his dog.” Until the day he passed, his best friend “Adonis” was the last one by his side. Antione was patient, loyal and had a calm kindness about him the way he treated animals reflected the way he moved through the world with care and heart.

Overall, his personality was a mixed of strength and warmth. He worked hard, loved deeply, and he knew how to bring joy into every moment. He showed love more through actions than words, but you always knew where you stood with him. With his family and friends, he was someone you wanted to share your life with – the memories, the laughter, the challenges, and the moments, we will all carry with us forever. Losing Antoine hurts more than we could ever put into words, but loving him was a gift, a privilege, and most importantly, an honor. With his love, his spirit, his energy, his personality, we will carry that with us, until our time ends. We will tell stories, we will laugh, we will cry, but the memories we hold close will last forever. Thank you for being here to honor Antione Ramone Walker Sr. , our forever love, and the amazing life he lived. He will always be a part of us.

Antoine was preceded in death by his parents, James Harrison and Cassandria Lee Walker Hill; son, Antoine Walker Jr.; and Michelle Blake. He is survived by his children, Antonio Walker of Carbondale, IL, Elijah Walker of Farmington, MO, and Mahogany Hicks of Streamwood, IL; siblings, Thomas Freeney, Tamika Grayson, and Nichole Joy; grandson, Antoine Walker; aunts, Mary Mayfield and Wanda Walker; uncle, Daniel Walker; and nieces and nephews, Julian, Nariah, Raniya, Zayvion, Kamryn, and Kaydence.

Visitation will be 11:00am until funeral service at 12:00pm, Friday, February 13, 2026, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60120.
