Adam Quinn Buie, age 45, of Elgin, IL, passed away suddenly on July 2, 2025 (a massive heart attack, it is believed). He was born July 20, 1979 at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, Arpha and Faith (née Harney) Buie.
Adam’s middle name, Quinn, was lovingly chosen by his father in tribute to the 1968 Manfred Mann song “The Mighty Quinn.” The song’s lyrics—"Quinn the Eskimo will make you jump for joy... everybody's in love with Quinn"—perfectly echoed the spirit Adam carried through life. He was a beacon of joy, a magnet for friends, and someone whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those around him.
Adam will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Known for his unique sense of humor and razor-sharp wit, he brought levity even in serious moments. Steadfast and dependable, Adam was treasured by many who knew him as a loyal companion and a grounding force.
Even in death, Adam’s generous spirit lives on as a tissue donor with the Gift of Hope registry. A final act of kindness that transforms loss into life—one person’s generosity offering a second chance for others.
Adam’s legacy is one of laughter, connection, and compassion. He lived—and gave—with heart.
Adam is preceded in death by his father, Arpha Buie. He is survived by his mother, Faith Buie; and brothers, Ben (Crissy) Buie, Jason (Jill) Buie, and Tobe (Sara) Buie.
No public service is scheduled at this time, though a private remembrance of life is planned in the future. Interment will be private.
