William Kevin McClure

William “Kevin” McClure, age 70, of Hanover Park, IL, passed away peacefully in Bartlett, IL on August 31, 2023. He was born April 11, 1953 in Richmond, IN to his loving parents, William D. and Mary M. (née Holmes) McClure.

Kevin graduated from Richmond Senior High School, Class of 1971, and attended Purdue University on a four-year golf scholarship, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1975. He worked at Belden after graduation, with his career evolving into owning his own wire and cable business.

Kevin was a friend to all, very kind and generous, and known for his witty and caring sense of humor. Like his father, Kevin excelled at golf and loved the game. He enjoyed many sports, and brought family and friends together for over 30 years with his March Madness tournaments. He loved sports, old music, and his Vegas trade shows.

The family is grateful to his dearest friend and business partner, Bonnie Shoemaker, for always being there for him.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved dog, Donovan. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia (Michael) Hyde of Rock Hill, SC; niece, Dr. Amanda (Andrew) Rebar of Queensland, Australia; nephew, Will (Ashley) Hyde of Denver, CO; and numerous loving cousins.

There will be two Celebrations of Life for Kevin. The first will be from 11:00am to 3:00pm, Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Rosati’s, 1770 W. Wise Road, Schaumburg, IL 60193. Family asks that attendees dress in their favorite sports team gear or colors.

Kevin will be laid to rest at 12:00pm, Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, State Road 227 South, Richmond, IN 47374, followed by a second Celebration of Life from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Forest Hills Country Club, 2169 S. 23rd Street, Richmond IN 47374.
