Wayne Bruce Daily Obituary

Wayne Bruce “Bimbo” Daily, age 68, of Huntley, IL, passed away at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, IL on March 16, 2024 after battling cancer. He was born March 20, 1955 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, Leroy and Carrie E. (née Hubbard) Daily.


Wayne graduated from Thompson High School in St. Charles, IL, Class of 1973, and was baptized at Apostolic Church of God by Bishop Arthur M. Brazier in Chicago, IL in September 1995. He worked as a dock man and truck driver for DHL Global Forwarding, and was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 705, for over 33 years before retiring in 2018.


Wayne met his wife, Mary, on a blind date in September 1995 in Elgin. They were united in holy matrimony on September 22, 2000, and were happily married for over 23 years.


Wayne was an antique car enthusiast, and was very passionate about his cars. For those who knew him, he had a great sense of humor and a kind heart, and was a caring person, who didn’t take crap from anyone.


Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, each in 2000; brother, Thomas in 2015; sister, Darlene in 2022; and best friend, Wesley Malady. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Daily; one son; three daughters; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Debra (LeVan) Ellis; best friends, Johnny Gallo, Russell Jones, and Lil Bro Raul Cano; and a host of family and friends.


A memorial will be held from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.


Interment will be private.
