Victoria Gutierrez

Victoria Gutierrez, age 90, of Elgin, IL, passed away on July 23, 2022.  She was born October 3, 1931 in La Cinta, Michoacan, Mexico to her loving parents, Sebero Gutierrez and Herminia Vivian.

Victoria was married to Manuel Rodriguez for 52 years before his passing in 2003.  Together they raised nine children.

Victoria was a hard worker, and was caring, loving, and funny.  She enjoyed reading, watching TV, cooking, and listening to music.  Her favorite artist was Antonio Aguilar.

Victoria enjoyed coffee and bread rolls, and adored spending time with and doting on her many grandchildren.

Victoria was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Rodriguez.  She is survived by her children, Rafael, Rosa, Clemente, Antonia, Margarita, Isabel, Jose Guadalupe, Jose Luis, and Rodolfo; siblings, Natividad, Antonio, Lucia, Narciso, and Miguel Gutierrez; and 35 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with prayers at 7:00pm, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.

Mass will be 11:00am, Friday, July 29, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Monsignor Arquimedes Vajello will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60120.
