Roberto Baeza, de 72 años, de Elgin, IL, falleció el 18 de febrero de 2023. Nació el 16 de diciembre de 1950 en México de sus amados padres, Manuel Baeza y Francisca Zamudio.

Robe fue un esposo amoroso durante 45 años, un gran padre de cuatro hijos y un orgulloso abuelo de cinco nietos. Tenía una gran ética de trabajo y fue empleado del Hospital Sherman durante 35 años. Cualquiera que tuvo el placer de conocerlo creía que era amable, humilde y amigable. Le gustaba ver béisbol y era un gran fanático de los Cachorros. Pero, sobre todo, le encantaba estar con su familia y disfrutaba el tiempo que pasaba jugando con sus nietos.

A Robe le precedieron en la muerte su hija, Ana “Ceci” Baeza; y padres, Manuel y Francisca Baeza. Le sobreviven su esposa, Maricela Baeza; hijos, Robe (Xochitl), Mane (Liz) y Anjelica (Sebastian); hermanos, Kiko, Mane, Nena y Cayo; y nietos, Joaquin, Jadelyn, Julian, Isaiah y Noah.

El velorio será de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., el viernes 24 de febrero de 2023 en Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Roberto Baeza, age 72, of Elgin, IL, passed away on February 18, 2023. He was born December 16, 1950 in Mexico to his loving parents, Manuel Baeza and Francisca Zamudio.

Robe was a loving husband for 45 years, a great father of four children, and proud grandfather to five grandchildren. He had a great work ethic, and was a Sherman Hospital employee for 35 years. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him believed he was kind, humble and friendly. He enjoyed watching baseball and was a huge Cubs fan. But most of all he loved being with his family and would relish the time he spent playing with his grandchildren.

Robe was preceded in death by his daughter, Ana “Ceci” Baeza; and parents, Manuel and Francisca Baeza. He is survived by his wife, Maricela Baeza; children, Robe (Xochitl), Mane (Liz), and Anjelica (Sebastian); siblings, Kiko, Mane, Nena, and Cayo; and grandchildren, Joaquin, Jadelyn, Julian, Isaiah, and Noah.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday, February 24, 2023 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Funeral mass will be 11:00am, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Mary Church of Elgin, 400 Fulton Street, Elgin, IL 60120.  Fr. Lisandro Cristancho will be officiating.

Interment will be private.
