Robert Jeffrey “Jeff” Young, age 74, of Elgin, IL, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. He was born August 21, 1951 in Elmhurst, IL, to Robert and Mary (née Tuminaro) Young.

Robert, who was known as “Jeff,” was raised in Franklin Park but was also a long-time resident of Wasco and Elgin, IL.  Jeff graduated from Saint Gertrude Catholic School in 1965, and was a 1969 graduate of East Leyden High School.  He found a career as a professional truck driver, retiring from R&L Carriers in 2017.

Throughout his life, Jeff pursued his passions for car and motorcycle racing, music, drumming, and flying.  He was proud to earn a pilot's license.

Jeff enjoyed good times with his family and friends, and went on many adventures, traveling on motorcycle through the Great Smoky Mountains, through Central America and across the country to Alaska.  He cherished family dinners, game nights, and hanging out with friends, sharing lively conversations.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Robert Young; and brothers, Gary and Martin (late Maribeth). He is survived by his mother, Mary Young; siblings, Denise (Steve), Brian (Sharon), Doreen (Barry), Roger, and Christopher (Karol) Young; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Nina), Allison, Sophie, and Veronica Young; great-nieces and -nephews, Oona, Hollis, Goldie, Maeve, and Jack; and many cousins and friends.

Jeff, a beloved son, dear brother, caring uncle, fond cousin, and loyal friend, was loved by many and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am, Friday, December 19, 2025 at Saint Gertrude Catholic Church, 9613 Schiller Boulevard, Franklin Park, IL 60131.

Interment will be private.
