Robert Defrance Mitchell

Robert "Robbie" Defrance Mitchell was born June 15, 1964 in Chicago, IL to the late Robert Mitchell and Ruth Willis.

In his youth, he attended Sullivan High School and enjoyed hanging out with the neighborhood boys. One of six children, Robbie was protective of his siblings, and continued that throughout his life.

Robbie was loving and eager to lend a helping hand. Being around family, laughing, playing cards, and oh yeah, the left-overs were his favorites. He will be remembered for the many nicknames he gave, the many stories he'd tell of his life, and his crazy antics.

Robbie made his transition in the early hours of Thursday, May 25, 2023. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Mitchell; mother, Ruth Willis; stepfather, Eddie Willis; and nephew, Edward Mitchell.

He will continue to live on in the lives of his children, Robert (Precious) Ferguson of Lombard, IL, and Dylaun Mitchell of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Rheayanna, Ryan, and Ryder Ferguson of Lombard IL; sisters, LaJuana (Kevin Sr.) Lewis of Chicago, IL, Shermish Mitchell of Seattle, WA, and Valencia (Michael) Hastings of Dolton, IL; brothers, Kevin (Judy) Fort of Clyde, TX, and Dr. Derek Michell of Castro Valley, CA; and aunt, Mildred Rollins of Benton Harbor, MI. He will also live on in a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A memorial will be held from 1:00pm until funeral service at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Pastor Romel Ferguson will be officiating.

Interment will be private.
