Ramon Rodriguez Caban

Ramón Rodríguez Caban, de 79 años, residente de Elgin, Illinois, falleció el 12 de junio de 2026. Nació el 23 de septiembre de 1946 en Aguada, Puerto Rico, hijo de Carmelo Rodríguez y Ramona Caban.

En 1969, Ramón conoció al amor de su vida, Aurea Rosa Rivera, en un festival, iniciando así una relación que duraría más de cinco décadas. El 7 de febrero de 1970 contrajeron matrimonio. Su unión, que duró más de 56 años, estuvo marcada por alegrías y tristezas, pero permanecieron juntos hasta que la muerte los separó. Tuvieron cuatro hijos. Su hogar siempre fue un lugar acogedor para su familia, un lugar al que siempre podían regresar y llamar hogar.

Ramón era trabajador y responsable, se enorgullecía de su trabajo y nunca faltaba un día. Su dedicación al bienestar de su familia le valió el respeto y la admiración de quienes lo rodeaban.  Ramón trabajó muchos años en una fábrica, manteniendo a sus seres queridos con dedicación y amor. Era conocido por su gran generosidad. Su hogar fue una bendición para quienes venían de la isla de Puerto Rico.

En su tiempo libre, a Ramón le gustaba pescar, arreglar coches y la jardinería. Encontraba satisfacción en mantenerse ocupado y se enorgullecía de todo lo que hacía. También le gustaba bailar, conducir vehículos de aspecto peligroso y contar historias. Disfrutaba recibiendo visitas y pasando tiempo recordando anécdotas con sus padres y hermanos. Le encantaba hablar de la historia de Puerto Rico y escuchar su música.

Lo más importante para Ramón fue experimentar el amor y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasan todo entendimiento (Juan 3:16, Romanos 5:8 y Filipenses 4:7). Lo más importante es la salvación de su alma, que es eterna, obtenida comprada a precio de sangre.

El legado de Ramón es de amor, dedicación y familia. Todos los que lo conocieron y amaron lo extrañarán profundamente y lo recordarán con cariño. Su ejemplo de trabajo arduo y entrega perdurará en los corazones de su familia por muchos años.

A Ramón le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y su hija, Diana. Le sobreviven su esposa, Aurea; sus hijos, Joshua, Javier y Ramón Jr.; sus hermanos, Juana, Teresa, Lucy, Arsenio, Antonio y Agustín; y sus nietos, Ariana, Kenneth, Jacob y Nicholas.

El velorio se llevará a cabo de 5:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m., seguido del servicio fúnebre a las 7:30 p. m., el viernes 19 de junio de 2026, en la Funeraria Symonds-Madison, ubicada en 305 Park Street, Elgin, Illinois 60120.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el sábado 20 de junio de 2026, de 10:00 a 11:30 a. m.

Ramon Rodriguez Caban, age 79, of Elgin, IL, passed away on June 12, 2026. He was born September 23, 1946 in Aguada, PR to his loving parents, Carmelo Rodriguez and Ramona Caban.

In 1969, Ramon met the love of his life, Aurea Rosa Rivera, at a festival, beginning a journey that would last more than five decades. On February 7, 1970, they married. Their marriage of over 56 years was marked by joys and sorrows, but they remained together until death separated them. They had four children together.  Their home was always a welcoming place for their family—a place they could always return to and call home.

Ramon was hardworking and dependable, taking great pride in his work and never missing a day on the job. His dedication to providing for his family earned him the respect and admiration of those around him.  Ramon worked for many years in a factory, providing for his loved ones with dedication and love. He was known for his great generosity. His home was a blessing to those who came from the island of Puerto Rico.

In his free time, Ramon liked fishing, working on cars, and gardening. He found satisfaction in staying busy and took pride in everything he did. He also liked to dance, ride dangerous-looking machines, and tell stories. He enjoyed having visitors and spending time recounting events that had happened to him with his parents and siblings. He loved talking about Puerto Rican history and listening to its music.

The most important thing for Ramon was that he was able to experience the love and peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, and Philippians 4:7). The greatest thing is the salvation of his soul, which is eternal, purchased at the price of blood.

Ramon's legacy is one of love, dedication, and family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. His example of hard work and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family for years to come.

Ramon was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Diana. He is survived by his wife, Aurea; sons, Joshua, Javier, and Ramon Jr.; siblings, Juana, Teresa, Lucy, Arsenio, Antonio, and Augustin; and grandchildren, Ariana, Kenneth, Jacob, and Nicholas.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with service at 7:30pm, Friday, June 19, 2026, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.
