Quyen Ton Nguyen Obituary

Quyen Ton Nguyen, age 53, of Elgin, IL, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 24, 2024.  Born in Vietnam on March 13, 1971, Quyen moved to the United States at 12, embracing his new home with optimism and courage.  His journey reflects a life rich with love, adventure and a deep connection to family and friends.

Quyen pursued and earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and chemistry at the University of Iowa.  He furthered his education by obtaining a master's in management information systems from Roosevelt University.  His professional journey started with Motorola, Lodestone, IBM, and Infosys and continued to Capgemini as a senior principal consultant.

However, beyond his professional endeavors, Quyen's greatest joys were found in his family. His daughters, Sophia and Nicole, were the lights of his life, and he showered them with love and shared adventures. He taught them the love of travel and nature, sharing the wonders of snorkeling and exploring the world's beauty.  He shared adventures and created lifelong memories in them.

His devotion extended to his parents (Me. & Cha) and his beloved wife (Giao Tran).  Quyen and his wife met as undergraduates at the University of Iowa, where their love story began.  She followed him to Chicago for graduate school at DePaul University.  They have been together for over 25 years, feeling as though they grew up together.  Their deep love and unwavering support for each other were evident to all who knew them, and their relationship was a beautiful testament to their enduring commitment and affection.

Quyen also had a profound love for his siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends, whom he held close to his heart. Quyen's ability to forge deep connections regardless of social status or background speaks volumes about his inclusive and compassionate nature. His friends come from all walks of life.  His generous spirit and caring nature made him a beloved figure among his extended family and friends.

Quyen lived life to the fullest, without regret, embracing every moment with enthusiasm.  His life is a testament to living with passion, boldness, love, and an open heart.  Some of his close friends who stood by him through many years will tell you that he lived life like his favorite song, 'I did it my way.'  His enduring friendships were a source of strength and joy, marked by countless shared conversations filled with humor and the ability to endure his enthusiastic dance moves.

Quyen's adventurous spirit was evident in his love for travel. His journey began with work-related trips to countries in Asia, Europe, North American, and South America, but the time spent with his kids during these travels truly brought him joy. He would fly them into his work locations nationwide and took time to show and share local attractions with them. His happiness was rooted in the shared moments and cherished memories created during these trips.

While Quyen's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, his legacy of passion, courage, and love will continue to inspire. His memory will be cherished by his surviving family members, including his wife, children, parents, brothers, and a wide circle of friends.

Quyen is also predeceased by his cherished sister (Phuong Nguyen), uncle (Bang Nguyen), and aunt (Tham Nguyen).
