Paula M. Martinez, age 83, of Elgin, IL, passed away on June 29, 2023. She was born April 15, 1940 in Mexico to her loving parents, Ruperto Mendoza and Hilaria Escobedo.

Paula was preceded in death by her first child, daughter Yolanda Martinez; parents, Ruperto Mendoza and Hilaria Escobedo; grandchildren, Eduardo Fernando and James Luis; and siblings, Ruperto Mendoza Jr., Manuel Escobedo, Roberto Mendoza, and Theresa Llamas.

She is survived by her children, Fernando Seferino (Linda) Martinez, Irma (Andres) Salazar, Bertha Alicia "Letty" (the late Saul) Mancera, Corina Nieves Garcia, Yolanda (Victor) Perez, and Maria (Jorge Gavina) Nuncia; grandchildren, Crystal Lee, Sergio, Fernando Emilio, Julian Jacob, Andres Jr., Juana Iris, Adrian Israel, Ixcaly Abigail, Sandra Alicia, Jasmine, Elizabeth, Nicole, Marcos Enrique, Luis Daniel, Camilo Sancho, Viviana Vanessa, Victor Jr., Valeria, Valentin Sebastian, Michaela Lynn, Patricia, and Jorge Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Ivan, Jaylean Samarah, Santos Neymar Jr., Mia Isabella, Nevaeh, Natalie Jazzlyn, Arial Eliana, Juliana, Nathan Eduardo, Elyan, Victoria Marie, Michael James, Alexander David, Marcos Enrique Jr., Manuel E., and Lola Elizabeth.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday, July 10, 2023 and 9:30am to 10:30am, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at St. Monica Church, 90 N. Kennedy Drive, Carpentersville, IL 60110.  Fr. William Vajello will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Dundee Township East Cemetery, 420 Dundee Avenue, East Dundee, IL 60118.
