Patsy A. Lloyd

Patsy “Pat” A. Lloyd, age 89, of Elgin, IL, passed away on June 17, 2026. She was born February 11, 1937 in Elgin, IL to her loving parents, Ray and Frances (née Wing) Woolcott.

A proud graduate of Elgin High School, Pat later attended beautician school before finding a career that made her a familiar and friendly face in the community. Many knew her as the "Card Lady" at Osco Drug on Larkin Avenue, where her warm smile and genuine kindness brightened the days of those she helped.

While attending Elgin High School, Pat met the love of her life, Ken. They married and built a beautiful life together, sharing many happy years until his passing in 1998. Their marriage was rooted in love, faith, and devotion to their family.

Pat found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved baking treats for those she cared about, crocheting thoughtful handmade gifts, camping with family, and making treasured memories on Disney vacations. Music held a special place in her heart, and she encouraged a love of music throughout her family, leaving behind a legacy that continues through future generations.

Family meant everything to Pat. She shared a close bond with her siblings and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her faith was an important part of her life, and although she often preferred to serve quietly behind the scenes, her dedication to her church never went unnoticed. Whether helping with preparations or supporting others without seeking recognition, she exemplified a humble servant's heart.

Those who knew Pat will always smile when they remember the affectionate way she ended every phone call—with her signature farewell, "Bye bye for now!" Though she has departed from this life, those words remain a comforting reminder that love never truly says goodbye.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth A. Lloyd; sister, Ruth Hahn; little brother, Dick Woolcott; and daughter, Janeen Ellis. She is survived by her children, Wes (Eileen) Lloyd, Timothy (Anne) Lloyd, and Amy Lloyd; sister, Artis Whitcomb; grandchildren, Warren (Amanda) Lloyd, April (Josh) Smith, Kendra Rinehart, Kevin (Tonya) Lloyd, Megan Lloyd, Colin Lloyd, and Brianna Lloyd; and many great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00am until a celebration of life service at 11:00am, Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Church of the Brethren, 783 Highland Avenue, Elgin, IL 60123.

Interment will be private.
