Patricia Ann Hensley, age 93, of Elgin, IL, passed away on January 27, 2026. She was born June 13, 1932 in Des Moines, IA to her loving parents, Ralph and Sadie (née Skoglund) Stark.

A proud stay-at-home mother in the truest sense, Patricia dedicated her life to raising her children and nurturing a warm, welcoming home. She approached daily life with care and purpose—managing household routines, preparing meals, and always keeping a watchful eye on the small things that made a big difference in the lives of her family.

Though she never learned to swim, Patricia spent countless joyful hours at the pool with her children—cheering them on, playing pool basketball, and always ensuring their safety while creating memories filled with laughter.

She found quiet joy in simple pleasures: reading a good book, knitting with care, and even taking pride in housework, which she approached with her signature thoughtfulness. In the evenings, she brought joy to friends and family alike by playing the organ, often accompanied by her beloved spouse, who sang along—together, filling their home with music and warmth.

Patricia’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched with her devotion, her steadiness, and the quiet grace of her presence. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Jones; son, Joel Minor; and grandson, Daniel Brown. She is survived by her children, Anne Brown, Greg Minor, and Julie Minor-Thom; sister, Kay Orr; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private.
