Miroslawa "Mira" Koziol Wojciechowska was born on May 22, 1959, to parents Stephan and Franciszka (née Wojtowicz) Koziol in Czestochowa, Poland. She was the youngest of five siblings. She passed away in November 2022.

Mira married Marian Wojciechowska in Warsaw, Poland. She moved to the United States to begin a new life here. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in September 2017, and was an endowed member and served in the Relief Society.

Mira loved life and was always eager to have fun and lend a hand where needed. She was happy to share her Polish heritage thru food, costume, and dance. Despite the challenges she faced growing up in Poland and losing her husband there during the Polish Solidarity Uprising, she held to her strong faith and optimistic attitude throughout her life.

Mira’s many talents and hobbies included knitting and crocheting beautiful clothes and accessories, cooking, gardening, walking, volunteering, watching movies, listening to music, and reading. She was a member of the Elgin Public Museum and the Elgin History Museum where she served as a dedicated volunteer for the past ten years, and was employed as a cashier at Ace Hardware in Elgin.

Mira lived in Elgin, IL until the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one sibling, Eugeniusz Koziol. She leaves behind family in Poland, including siblings, Zygmunt, Elzbieta, and Janina, as well as many, many friends here in the United States.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Lakewood Memorial Park, 30W730 U.S. Hwy. 20, Elgin, IL 60120.
