Miriam Pasillas, age 58, of Elgin, IL, passed away on March 6, 2024. She was born September 22, 1965 in Mexico to her loving parents, Felipe Pasillas-Coronado and Eloisa Pasillas-Sanchez.

Miriam met her husband Angel Ibarra when they lived in the same apartment building in Palatine. They married in 1997 and were together for 27 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker.

Miriam was a strong, lovely, and very happy person. She dearly loved not just her immediate family, but also her extended family. To all children, she was known as “Tia Mimi.”

Miriam loved taking walks with her dog, Scooby, knitting, cooking, and listening to her radio, especially when Martin Diaz was playing. She would often say, “Let’s play Pirinola or Loteria!”

Miriam is survived by her husband, Angel Ibarra; daughter, Ruby Ibarra; parents, Felipe and Eloisa Pasillas; siblings, Elidia, Manuela, Rafael, Valdemar, Jose, Alberto, Ana, Rosa, Juan, and Edwin Pasillas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mass will be 11:00am, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. Mary Church of Elgin, 400 Fulton Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Rev. Lisandro Cristancho will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60120.
