Michael Vincent Mejia, age 60, of Elgin, IL, passed away on December 21, 2025. He was born July 13, 1965 in Joliet, IL to his loving parents, Vincent Mejia and Yolanda Cruz.

Michael was a person whose laughter could light up any room. A naturally funny guy with an infectious smile, Michael loved to sing and dance and was truly the life of the party. Wherever he went, joy seemed to follow.

Michael was a loyal and caring friend who valued the lifelong friendships he built over the years. Those bonds meant the world to him, just as family always did. He held close ties with loved ones in both Elgin and Joliet, and his family remained at the center of his life.

Above all else, Michael was a devoted and loving father to his son, Vince, who was his greatest pride and joy. His love, laughter, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Michael was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his son, Vincent Mejia; parents, Vincent Mejia and Yolanda Cruz; siblings, Richard (Ginny), Julie (Josh), and Rebecca; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation will be 5:30pm to 9:30pm, with prayers at 5:30pm, Monday, December 29, 2025, and 10:00am to 11:30am, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mass will be at 12:00pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Fr. Robert Camacho will be officiating.

Interment will be private.
