Marcella “Marcie” M. Geary, age 92, of Elgin, IL, passed away on January 28, 2024. She was born July 18, 1931 in Ironwood, MI to her loving parents, Stanley and Minnie (née King) Sloma.

Marcie worked for Wrigley Gum; she was one of their first female supervisors.

She met her husband James in Chicago, IL. For them it was truly “til death do we part.” They were married for 54 wonderful years before James' death in 2004.

Marcie was fun and feisty, and was very quick-witted. She enjoyed making everyone laugh. Loved ones will remember her funny eye-roll, wink and smile.

Marcie was also very family-oriented. She adored her family, and her daughter Gail was her very best friend. She also loved spending time with all of her 15 siblings and their children. She was an awesome aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed ceramics, playing Bingo, and going to the casino. She had a wonderful life and was a wonderful person to everyone she met.

Marcie was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Geary Sr.; son, James F. Geary Jr.; and daughter, Gail M. Geary. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jo Geary (wife of late James F. Geary Jr.); sister, Janet; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Huntley Cemetery East, 11500 Dean Street, Huntley, IL 60142. Fr. Rey Talento will be officiating.
