Leslie Herbert, age 66, of Elgin, IL, passed away on March 30, 2022. She was born May 21, 1955 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, William and Mildred (née Harden) Hunter.

Leslie attended Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville, and worked as a cook at the Barb City Manor in DeKalb. She and her husband Jonathan were married for 16 years.

Loved ones will remember Leslie for her forthright manner. She had no filter, and would unashamedly just tell it like it is.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Bill Hunter and Gary Hunter; and sister, Kathryn Poe. She is survived by her husband, Jonathan Herbert; children, Christopher Hunter and Cory Lee; siblings, LaDonna Pagels, Sandra Floyd, Pamela Arscott, Douglas Hunter, and Darlene Zehnle; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.

Interment will be private.
