Kathi Ruth Evans Lind, of Elgin, IL, passed away on November 6, 2022 at the age of 69. She was born in Fergus Falls, MN to William White and Doris Virginia (née Deuschman) Marston. She is survived by her husband, John A. Lind; mother; brother, William; and sister, Virginia. She will also be missed by her sons from her first marriage, Celyn Evans and Dylan Moonfire; their spouses, Dorrine and Susan; and her four grandsons, Eli, Aidan, Trevor, and Bruce.

Kat was a force of nature to all who knew her. She had a passion for charting her own path, whether it was for creating her own businesses, endless adventures, and enjoying life with friends and family. She had numerous businesses since the mid-seventies, ranging from computer consulting for Fortune 500 companies, to the sewing industry. She was a fanatical fantasy and sci-fi reader who also wrote many books while mentoring others.

She had a passion for learning new things which set her off on adventures such as rock-hunting, stained glass, white-water kayaking, scuba diving, woodworking, and hosting grand parties. She also had a love of gardening. For those who knew her, she was an avid collector of mementos, experiences, and friendships.

Kat was an amazing woman, a loved wife, a cherished mother, and a good friend. There is a little less chaos in the world without her and she will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
