Kara Lynn Fukala Allred Obituary

Kara Lynn Fukala Allred, age 54, of Streamwood, IL, passed away on June 9, 2023. She was born June 15, 1968 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, Manfred Fukala and Shirlene Tobias.

Kara graduated from Notre Dame High School, Class of 1986. She worked for FANUC for 23 years, a job she loved. She had a solid work ethic and prided herself on showing up on time and ready to work, even after a late night with family and friends.

Kara was the heartbeat of the Fukala family. She was a Fukala for life and she wore the title proudly. She loved her family and was committed to them through both good times and bad. She loved her parents and second mom, Bonnie, as well as her siblings, Kevin and Jennifer. She adored her nephew, Cassius, with whom she enjoyed hanging out and sharing many adventures, and she especially loved cheering for him at his high school volleyball games. Her baby niece, Evie Rose, was her pride and joy! She also loved and enjoyed spending time with her extended family, too, Uncles Klaus and Werner, Aunts Donna and Diane, and cousins, Jeff, Mitchell, Megan, Kimberly, Joshua, Haley, Brian, Tammy, and Todd. And she loved her pets – Boston Terriers, Bitsy and Ruby, and cat, Simba.

Kara loved food. She was a wonderful cook, and some of her signature dishes were her white bean chicken chili, corned beef for Reubens on St. Patty’s Day, and steak tacos. She loved a good meal with friends and family, and always had room for seconds. She also enjoyed sitting around the table after dinner, just shooting the breeze.

Kara enjoyed hosting and entertaining people, and was very welcoming to any and all. She always started her parties early, and was the last one to bed (after her midnight snack, of course!) She had the unique gift of making everyone feel welcome, and taking care of their needs. She was a great storyteller and a naturally funny person, and she loved to be lighthearted and goofy around company. Wherever she was, and whoever she was with, she held their attention.

Kara enjoyed the outdoors, especially in the summer, BBQ season. She loved to travel; Hawaii and Cabo San Lucas were favorite destinations. And she enjoyed exercising, and was committed to her Bootcamp classes, and riding her bike.

Kara loved sports, and was big fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks. She was always excited whenever she had a chance to attend a game. She also enjoyed watching horse racing, and was able to attend some of the bigger races with her family. And she loved music festivals, and any other events that included live music.

Kara was fun and adventurous, and always ready to join the party, even at the last minute. But she also enjoyed hanging out at home, whether sitting on the couch watching a good movie, or dancing around the living room with the music turned up loud.

Kara was quick to back up a friend, and was a tough city chick that didn't take crap from anyone, usually for the right reasons. Loved ones will miss her encouraging words that brought confidence and joy to others.

Kara was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mildred Tobias; mother, Shirlene Hoffman; baby sister, Kristie Fukala; and uncle, Klaus Fukala. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Manfred and Bonnie Fukala; siblings, Kevin Fukala and Jennifer Fukala; uncle, Werner Fukala; aunts, Diane Fukala and Donna Fukala; nephew, Cassius Fukala; niece, Evie Rose Fukala; cousins, Jeff, Mitchell and Megan Fukala, Kimberly, Joshua, and Haley Harr, Brian Fukala, Tammy Vogt Tove, and Todd Franek.
