Kandee Lynn Petges, age 74, of Elgin, IL, passed away on February 17, 2022. She was born June 21, 1947 in Elgin, IL to her loving parents, Theodore and Elsie (née Schleif) Pfortmiller.

Kandee was a lifelong Elginite. She graduated from Elgin High School, and worked at Senior Flexonics for 26 years before retiring in 2013.

Kandee met her husband, Bob, at a Memorial Day picnic at Kenyon Farm in 1975, and were married on October 11, 1975. They were married for 46 years before his passing in December, 2021.

Kandee had a silly sense of humor, and was very hardworking. She was a strong woman, and a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to read books, listen to country music, and watch Nascar races.

Kandee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Petges; parents, Theodore and Elsie Pfortmiller; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted (Delores), Gene (Sandy), and Clarence (Mary) Pfortmiller; and brother-in-law, Bud Huckaby. She is survived by her daughters, Tina (Larry) Semock, Sarah Petges, and Amanda (Bill Nesmith) Petges; siblings, Harold (Ellen) Pfortmiller, James (Lauralie) Pfortmiller, and Linda Huckaby; grandchildren, Lindsey Semock, Joshua Semock, Alexis Nesmith, Jordan Nesmith, Jeffery Nesmith, and Jazmyne Nesmith; great-grandson, Nathanial Warren; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private.
