Juan Ricardo “Ricky” Ramirez, age 37, of Elgin, IL, passed away on July 18, 2022. He was born May 25, 1985 in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, Jose and Patti (née Sleeman) Ramirez.

Ricky attended St. Joseph Catholic School, St. Edward Central Catholic High School, and Larkin High School. He was very artistic and creative, always with a project in the works. He was friendly, kind, caring, and compassionate.

Ricky loved spending time with his two boys. Playing his guitar and jamming with his friends was his happy place.

In partnership with the compassionate team at Gift of Hope, the donation of Ricky’s organs and tissue will forever change many lives.

Ricky was preceded in death by his infant brother, Jose P. Ramirez III; paternal grandfather, Jose P. Ramirez; maternal grandfather, Donald J. Sleeman; aunt, Rose M. Ramirez; and cousin, Jose Louie Ramirez.

He is survived by his loving partner, Sandy Saenz; children, Lennon and Noah Ramirez; parents, Jose P. and Patti J. Ramirez; brother, Tim (Kristie) Michael; sisters, Nikki (Eric Linstad) Michael and Lisa M. (Tim) Price; grandmother, Norma J. Sleeman (née DeHart); los abuelos, Ruben and Dolores (née Castillo) Saenz; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 2:00pm until funeral service at 5:00pm, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Michael Murschel will be officiating.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.
