Joy Lee Wade, age 95, completed this life’s journey at Sunrise Senior Living of Schaumburg on February 13, 2025, and went to be with the Lord. She was born in Elgin, IL to Ola and Grace (née Boley) Sportsman on August 20, 1929.

Elgin was Joy’s home for most of her life. She was married to William “Bob” Wade for 58 years, and together they raised four children. Joy enjoyed many years as a realtor with Starck Realty in Elgin. She made friends wherever she went, loved baking, and adored the many dogs that she had over the years.

Joy leaves behind three of her four children, Debra (Stan) Turski, Bonnie Potter, and Holly (Ron) Rieckhoff; eight of her nine grandchildren, Terry, Rachael, Deanna, Wendy, Kate, Hillary, John, and Jennifer; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bob” Wade; parents, Ola Sportsman and Grace Sportsman-Shelton; sisters, Gladys (Donald) Katzensky and Ellen Sportsman; brothers, Alvin Sportsman and James Sportsman; son, Robert Wade; and grandson, Ronnie Rieckhoff II.

Visitation will be 10:30am to 12:30pm, Friday, March 7, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.
