Jose A. Ortega Obituary
Jose A. Ortega, age 74, of Elgin, IL, passed away on January 23, 2024. He was born July 29, 1949 in Bronx, NY to his loving parents, Jose Ortega and Marina Aguirre.
Jose served in the United States Army, then worked as a machinist. He was a very caring and selfless person. He loved everyone and helped everyone he could.
Jose was a wonderful dad, and the best grandfather, and enjoyed spending quality dinner time with his beloved daughter and granddaughter. He was a hippie to the core, and loved his Beetles and rock and roll.
Jose was the best a winning any argument; never a dull moment with him! His family nicknamed him The Gato because of his love/hate relationship with his cats. He will be greatly missed.
Jose is survived by his daughter, Janice Diaz; and his granddaughter, Imani Arzola.
He will be interred with military honors at 2:00pm, Friday, March 8, 2024 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL 60421.
