Jose Otoniel Orellana, age 45, of Streamwood, IL, passed away on June 30, 2022. He was born March 15, 1977 in El Salvador to his loving parents, Concepcion Calero and Maria Eloisa Portillo Orellana.

Jose met his wife Gabriela at a family party, and they dated for a year before marrying on May 6, 2022.

Jose was a hard worker, and worked as a manager. He was friendly and helpful, and had a dark sense of humor. He was fun to be around.

Jose loved good food, and his favorite dish was pupusas, which his sister would often make for him. He was very joyful. He loved parties and being around fun people. He was so happy and excited that everyone was able to attend his wedding.

Jose is survived by his wife, Gabriela Guadalupe Tinajero Sedano; daughter, Katherin Portillo; parents, Consepcion Calero and Maria Eloisa Orellana; siblings, Alba, Adolfo, Carlos, Gloria, and Araceli; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with service at 7:00pm, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time.
