Jose Linares Figueroa, age 80, of Elgin, IL, passed away on Mary 16, 2025. He was born August 21, 1944 in Mexico to his loving parents, J. Trinidad Linares and Agustina Figueroa.

Jose and his wife, Maria, were married for over 60 years. Together they raised eight children. He was loving, kindhearted, caring, and calm. He loved when his family would all be together, and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jose loved listening to music and singing, especially mariachi. He had a wise and gentle soul. He always had a story to tell, and a smile to share.

Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Muñoz; children, Jorge, Adriana, Martin, Manuel, Silvia, Ramon, Juan Jose, and Anparo; 25 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday, May 23, 2025, and 10:30am to 11:30am, Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mass will be at 12:00pm, Saturday, May 24, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 270 Division Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Monsignor Arquimedes Vallejo will be officiating.

Interment will take place in Mexico.
