Jorge Enrique Lozano, de 93 años, de Elgin, Illinois, falleció el 28 de marzo de 2025. Nació el 23 de abril de 1931 en Colombia, hijo de sus queridos padres, Valerio Lozano y María del Carmen Suárez.

Jorge era un gran trabajador. A lo largo de los años, trabajó en la agricultura, el transporte y la sastrería. También fue evangelista, compartiendo la Palabra de Dios con todos los que conocía. Conoció a su esposa, Elvira, mientras trabajaba en una sastrería de su propiedad. Salieron en secreto antes de formalizar su relación. Estuvieron casados ​​más de 70 años.

Jorge era una persona maravillosa, muy dedicada y con un gran sentido del humor. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia. Fue un esposo encantador, un padre excepcional y un gran ejemplo para sus nietos y bisnietos.

Jorge siempre vestía traje y corbata, y a menudo usaba un sombrero de su colección. Le apasionaba tanto vestir traje que incluso lo usaba para ir al gimnasio. Disfrutaba de los juegos de mesa, especialmente del Parqués, y de ver películas de acción.

A Jorge le sobreviven su esposa, Elvira Acero; sus hijos, Carmen Lozano, Norberto Lozano, Luis Lozano, Luz M. Lozano, Mary Bufford, Alfredo Lozano y Denise A. Lozano; 14 nietos y 7 bisnietos.

El servicio conmemorativo se llevará a cabo de 13:00 a 16:00 h, y el funeral se realizará a las 14:00 h, el sábado 12 de abril de 2025, en la Funeraria Symonds-Madison, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. El Reverendo César Hernández oficiará la ceremonia.

Jorge was a hard worker. Over the years, he worked in agriculture, transportation, and tailoring. He was also an evangelist, sharing the Word of God with everyone he met. He met his wife, Elvira, while working at a tailor shop he owned. They secretly dated before formalizing their relationship. They were married over 70 years.

Jorge was a wonderful person, very dedicated, with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family. He was a lovely husband, an exceptional father, and a strong example for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jorge was always dressed up in a suit and tie, often wearing a hat from his collection. He was so passionate to wear suits that he would even wear a suit to the gym. He enjoyed playing board games, especially Parqués, and watching action movies.

Jorge is survived by his wife, Elvira Acero; children, Carmen Lozano, Norberto Lozano, Luis Lozano, Luz M. Lozano, Mary Bufford, Alfredo Lozano, and Denise A. Lozano; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, with funeral service at 2:00pm, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Rev. Cesar Hernandez will be officiating.
